Andy Garcia is an actor who is able to stay true to himself and keep to the ideals he has had for acting. His family has stood up for who they wanted to be also by moving to America to escape the communist culture of Cuba. Andy Garcia is truly a great actor.
Andy was born April 12, 1956 in Havana, Cuba. His full name is Andres Arturo Garcia Menendez. His father Rene is a lawyer and his mother Amelie is an English teacher. His family left Cuba when he was only five. They moved to Miami, Florida with nothing but their family. It was very difficult adapting to a foreign country but with hard work the Garcia family were able to begin a million-dollar fragrance company, from scratch. Andy decided to begin acting classes at the Florida International University after he had become very ill his senior year of high school.
